TODAY IN HISTORY

    HILLARY CLINTON
    March 25, 2009 - Mexico

Wants to reimpose the ban on assault weapons, The Secretary of State has pledged the United States into giving Mexico more help in its anti-drugs campaign. Clinton said that the use of military-style assault weapons was of particular concern, and she would discuss the reimposition of a ban on their sale. The previous decision to lift the ban was a mistake, she said. She has admitted that it is America's appetite for drugs that has helped fuel the violence. Some eight thousand people have died in Mexico's drug-related violence in the last two years.

    RALLIES FOR IMMIGRANTS
    March 25, 2006 - USA

Activists have rallied in Los Angeles to protest against plans to criminalize undocumented workers. The organisers say that demonstrators want an immigration system that was humane and not racist. The House of Representatives has passed a bill that will be making it a felony for immigrants to be in the the country illegally, and President Bush has proposed a guest- worker plan. Protests against the immigration reform bill, H.R. 4437, are being held in several US cities, with 500,000 people marching in Los Angeles, 50,000 in Denver, and 20,000 in Phoenix. They are also protesting at the proposed construction of a security wall along the United States-Mexican border.

  • Until a man duplicates a blade of grass
by Earth Day, Thomas Alva Edison Inventor

"...Until a man duplicates a blade of grass, Nature can laugh at his so-called scientific knowledge. Remedies from chemicals will never stand in favorable comparison with the products of Nature, the living cell of a plant, the final result of the rays of the sun, the mother of all life...."
  • A Change is Gonna Come
    by Meredith Grey

"...Change; we don't like it, we fear it, but we can't stop it from coming. We either adapt to change, or we get left behind. It hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn't is lying. But here's the truth: Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good. Sometimes change is everything...."

    about Eyesight Myth and Fact

Myth: Staring at a computer screen all day is harmful to the eyes. Fact: Spending the day staring at a screen can tire or strain your eyes, but it will not hurt them. Make sure lighting doesn't create a glare on your screen. When spending long periods at your keyboard, take a break now and then to rest your eyes to reduce fatigue. Also, don't forget to blink. Your eyes need to stay lubricated to feel comfortable. More vehicles
    about Stolen On New Year's

More vehicles are stolen on New Year's Day than any other holiday throughout the year. (So does that mean thieves are having their last fling before changing their ways or are they trying for a big score to start the New Year?)
