    MOUNT ST. HELENS ERUPTS
    March 27, 1980 - USA

    After a week of small earthquakes below the area, an eruption of Mount St. Helens blasts a mushroom cloud over most of the state of Washington. Just 2 months later St. Helens catastrophically erupted on May 18th, 1980 during which 57 people were killed or never found and huge tracts of forest and homes were destroyed.
