A radiation specialist from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh has made it known that both the U.S. and Soviet Union had plans to use microwaves to their advantage on land, naval, and air bases. A fear regarding the use of microwaves was very present from this time forward. It became possible for enemy forces to use the microwaves to destroy the systems on which most military centers run.

    PAKISTAN GOVERNMENT COMPLETES TERM

    An elected government completed a full term for the first time in the country's history. Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's government was the first to complete a full term since the country's formation in 1947. The success was praised for moving in the right direction of democracy as all previous governments had either been overthrown, ended by political infighting, or ended with assassinations and murders.
